Use Your Brain to Learn a Language - Part 3
July 3, 2009 10:00 am ArtsAn easy way to think of how both sides of the brain work in learning a language is to think of the left brain as learning a language and the right brain as acquiring a language. The left brain processes words, the right brain uses sounds and rhythm to firm up the connections between sound and meaning. Listen to the audios many times, Rocket Japanese reviews not just to get the meaning but also to make the link between sound and meaning permanent. One of my favourites is the ‘Toreador’ song from the opera Carmen - I’ve found that you can fit just about any sentence of about 10 syllables into the first line of the song and then repeat those 10 syllables for the rest of the song.
