ATV Safety Gear

What kind of safety gear should you have if you’re planning on driving a four-wheeler or other ATV? First of all, make sure the vehicle itself it outfitted with the right gear, like properly-inflated radial ATV tires. As far as personal protection, a helmet is the number one absolute must. This isn’t your grandma’s bicycle, which can be dangerous enough on it’s own. This is a tough, gas-powered vehicle that can potentially put even the safest driver at risk. You don’t always know what’s ahead in the terrain. A four-wheeler doesn’t handle like a car, so you have to be careful about that, too. Riding with a helmet is the very least you must do, although elbow and knee pads and other protective equipment don’t hurt, either.
