Cheap Ford Buying

We really will not be able to buy her a new car for at least another year when we have gotten our home paid off. I found a 1993 cheap Ford Taurus that I am considering buying for her. my only concern is how old this car is and that it has a lot of miles on it. It is very affordably priced at only $800. What are the chances that this car will last for at least a year as long as we keep it fully maintained?
