Project Management Professional is a certification in Project management that is globally recognized. It is managed by the Project Management Institute. It is based on the PMP Examination specification published by PMI in 2005. The Project Management Institute has 3 levels of certification. The CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) is the first. The next is the PMP (Project Management Professional). This is considered to be the standard of all PMP certifications. Those who have passed the PMP Certification Test and completed the PMP Certification Training successfully and have met the standards of PMP requirements for documenting their professional experience can use PMP with their names.
