Much has been made of the fact that the amazon kindle reader lacks a touch screen capability. Personally speaking, I don’t find this to be something I miss too much. The controls on the Kindle are well laid out and I can operate my device with one hand very easily. If anything it’s easier to use than a “real” book. I find it hard to imagine that a touch screen would make it any easier. I have also heard – although I haven’t had a chance to see it first hand yet – that touch screens need to be more reflective as a result of needing to use a particular type of screen material. Again it’s a matter of personal taste I suppose, but I wouldn’t want to sacrifice the good reading experience and excellent display of the current kindle.
