A successful initiative to reduce phishing scams and virus threats
July 1, 2008 4:11 am TechnologyThere is no reason to fall for the scams that are continually perpetuated on the internet. The company I work for has a pretty rigid security policy. This is necessary because people have different computer skills and can easily fall victim to a scam or virus if precautions are not put in place. One of the latest initiatives has been to send a weekly bulletin to inform people about the latest phishing scams and virus threats. This keeps people up to date about emails and attachments that should not be opened. Since this initiative was introduced it has greatly reduced the number of quarantined computers that need to be repaired.
