There are activities and professions that require a computer in environments that a regular computer would never be able to navigate and function. Rugged computers are designed to mitigate these environmental challenges as they will take on just about any condition out there and keep on working. This simplifies the work of people with dirty jobs that are rough on computers and very exposed to the elements. But the difference they make is immeasurable.
